The data set represents a gate to gate inventory. It can be used to characterise the supply chain situation of the respective commodity in a representative manner. Combination with individual unit processes using this commodity enables the generation of user-specific (product) LCAs.

General comment
The data set covers the (gate-to-gate) gypsum plasterboard recycling process. Included are the energy consumption (electricity and diesel) of crushing, mechanical separation of paper from the gypsum core of plasterboard and fine grinding of gypsum. The transport of plaster board waste to the recycling plant is not included. Further exposure of the outgoing material flows (recycled gypsum plaster, waste paper and steel scrap) has to be considered by the user.
