Environmental Footprint reference packages

The following tables provide the Environmental Footprint reference packages (ILCD-formatted zip packages with reference flow lists, LCIA methods and other related XML Files). The reference packages' content is also available as excel table, and change logs in comparison with previous releases are available.

Sources to be used for compliance declaration in process datasets, according to the EF data guide, are available here (copy-paste the sources in your source folder in ILCD structure).

EF reference package 3.0 (transition phase)

Description

Files

EF Reference package 3.0: zipped version of the EF reference package DEVELOPED FOR THE EF TRANSITION PHASE, including all the reference files, plus additional documentation, in ILCD structure, to be used as baseline for EF compliant data development.
It includes also the configuration file for Look@LCI (updated with new normalization factors (NFs) in November 2019 – the software is available in the common developer’s page), for the specific EF reference package, and automatic converter from EF 2.0 to EF 3.0, in the folder "others" within the package.

EF REFERENCE PACKAGE 3.0

EF reference package: Excel file reporting the most relevant information contained in the zipped files, for Flows, Methods, Characterisation Factors, Unit Groups and Flow Properties.

 EF 3.0 XLS

Change Log: Excel file reporting the difference occurring between the EF 2.0 package and the EF 3.0 Release.

 CHANGE LOG:

EF 3.0 Complete pack: this is the reference package used for the EF transition phase. The zip contains the EF 3.0 Reference Package, the excel file of the package, the change log from EF 2.0 to EF 3.0, the supporting information on CFs and the normalization and weighting factors (Normalization updated in November 2019). The validator profile for EF3.0 is also included in the reference package. Additional documentation on new impact categories and data development is provided.
If you downloaded the EF Reference Package 3.0 before March 12th 2019, please replace the validation profile with the one available here.

EF reference package 2.0 (pilot phase)

EF 2.0 Complete Pack: this is the reference package used for the EF Pilot phase (for PEF studies supporting PEFCRs development). The zip contains the EF 2.0 Reference Package, the excel file of the package, the change log from ILCD to EF 2.0, the supporting information on CFs and the normalization and weighting factors. The validator profile for EF2.0 is also included in the reference package.

Guide for EF compliant data sets (NEW VERSION RELEASED - JULY 2020) provides additional guidance, in addition to the ILCD entry-level requirements, in order to develop process data sets, compliant with the Environmental Footprint (EF) requirements. The previous versions of the guide are available here: March 2019 - August 2019.
