Welcome

The EF datasets available in the "representative products" data stock were developed in compliance with the reference PEFCR. A PEFCR may include more than one representative product if appropriate. Each EF dataset available in the "representative products" data stock reflects the average environmental performance of the representative product sold in the EU market.

In a PEF context:

Representative product (model) - The “representative product” may or may not be a real product that one can buy on the EU market. Especially when the market is made up of different technologies, the “representative product” can be a virtual (non-existing) product built, for example, from the average EU sales-weighted characteristics of all technologies around. A PEFCR may include more than one representative product if appropriate.

Benchmark – A standard or point of reference against which any comparison can be made. In the context of PEF, the term ‘benchmark’ refers to the average environmental performance of the representative product sold in the EU market. A benchmark may eventually be used, if appropriate, in the context of communicating environmental performance of a product belonging to the same category.

List of datasets and DQRs:

Here you can find a list of the available datasets to be used in the EF framework, and related DQRs, from different data providers

EF compliant datasets

ILCD entry level compliant datasets

Data access and use

The EF node is  published using Soda4LCA application (developed by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), OkworX consulting and JRC))  Beyond the above mentioned representative datasets, is available for download a data stock of data for grape production, derived from Agribalyse DB, and converted according to the EF compliance criteria.  the data stocks can be downloaded from the respective sections, selecting the stock from the drop down menu on the top rigst side of the page, and then selecting download from the top left side. Some data stocks might be under restricted access, if you need full access please send an email to EPLCA@ec.europa.eu More information for develop your dataset and also create your own node can be found at LCDN (Registry), in the 'Developer' section

The final PEFCRs/OEFSRs voted upon are based on EF-compliant datasets tendered by the EC. The datasets are currently available in their fully aggregated form only. By end 2018, the datasets from Thinkstep ( http://lcdn.thinkstep.com/Node/ ) will be made available in their disaggregated form also. The remaining datasets will be available in their disaggregated form by mid-2019. Until disaggregated datasets are not available, the users of the PEFCRs/OEFSRs cannot implement Option 2/Situation 2 of the Data Needs Matrix and cannot implement PEFCR/OEFSR rules that require disaggregated datasets.
